Many therapists are hesitant to invest their time and effort in an online course without knowing what to expect and whether distance learning will work for them. This research-based course addresses distance learning methodology, the advantages and disadvantages of distance education, the attributes of a quality distance learning program, and the keys to being a successful distance learner.

Target Audience
Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants interested in online education would benefit from this course. Virtually any professional with similar interests would find much helpful information because the concepts can be easily generalized.
Completion Requirements
Upon successful completion of a multiple choice post-test, provision of a brief course evaluation and payment for this course, the participant will be awarded 0.1 AOTA CEU (1 Contact Hour for State of Florida Occupational Therapy practitioners). The University of Florida will mail a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion and enter the contact hour into the Florida CEBroker database.

Instructional Methods
The learner will view a video presentation, reference PowerPoint® slides, and take a multiple choice post-test. A list of references is available for those who wish to study the topic further.
